Palin’s (new) problem.
Uh oh. It looks like the right-wing’s favorite pit bull might have smeared her lipstick. The investigation into her firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan resulted in a finding that she violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaskan lawmakers have no authority to sanction her for this violation…making me wonder why the statute exists in the first place…but the damage may be in the report itself.
Palin, of course, denies doing anything wrong. In, yet another case of Republican double-standards, she and the McCain team claim that these findings don’t matter.
Palin has recently said that the Personnel Board inquiry is the only one that matters. And McCain’s campaign echoed those comments Friday.
“This is the opinion of this Legislative Council investigation,” Griffin said. “It’s just an opinion.”
Ah, yes, the all-powerful Personnel Board. Incidentally, the Alaska State Personnel Board happens to be a three member panel, all of whom were hand-picked and appointed by then Republican Governor Frank Murkowski. Palin, herself, reappointed one of the members earlier this year.
Looks like “First Dude”, Todd Palin, has quite a bit of dirt on his hands as well:
Gov. Palin knowingly “permitted Todd to use the Governor’s office and the resources of the Governor’s office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired,” Branchflower’s report reads.
Imagine how much access she’ll grant him should she become VP…and what exactly might happen if McCain couldn’t finish his term?
It’s highly unlikely that Sarah Palin has even read the report, but if you’d like to, you can download the PDF here.
I’d love to hear everyone’s opinion in terms of what effect, if any, this is going to have on the outcome of the election.

It will only have an effect if we keep talking about it.
I, for one, would like to hear about the AIP (Alaskan Independent Party) and Palin’s role –a big one, from what I understand.
Why, it gets even better because:

Who built Sarah’s house?
And then Alaska Rep Les Gara confronts McPalin spokeshead Meg Stapleton and calls her a liar to her face:

With the press shooting every second of this epic confrontation.
