It’s time.

October 14th, 2008

It’s time to finish the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, reducing the threat of global terrorism, and bring the men and women of our Armed Services home to their families as well as to a hero’s welcome.

It’s time to reduce eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels, regardless of where they come from, and commit to making the switch to clean and renewable energy sources.

It’s time to put an end to hate and racism in this country, reprimanding those who ignore and encourage their spread.

It’s time to reform our nation’s medical and insurance industries to ensure that everyone has access to quality, affordable health care coverage.

It’s time to commit to responsible spending habits and financial choices in order to regain strength and dependability in our country’s economy.

It’s time to elect an African-American to our nation’s highest office, showing the world that we are a diverse land of opportunity and not merely a nation of grumpy, old white men.

It’s time for change.

The list could go on and on, but these are the the issues and ideas that have been in my head since the campaigns began and began bubbling over after watching the video below. This video has nothing to do with politics, the economy, global warming, etc. It’s just a guy, Matt, dancing. Before you question whether or not it’s out of place here on Repooplicans.com, watch it. If you’re anything like me, besides being insanely jealous of all the places Matt has been and all the people he has had the opportunity to meet, you’ll be simply in awe of the significance of the global diversity captured on film. Warning: After watching this film, you may feel just a tiny bit insignificant and maybe just a little bit embarrassed by the importance you place on some of the most unimportant things in life. Oh, and there’s a better than fair chance that you’ll be smiling throughout.

Three weeks and counting! Let’s, everyone, make sure there is a change November 4th.
